Nestled among three mountains is the victorian village of Jim Thorpe. Called the Switzerland of America, the village is a perfectly perserved example victorian architecture.
The Harry Packer Mansion sits on a hill overlooking the village. Built in 1874 the mansion has been completely restored to a 12 room B&B inn. Filled with period antiques, oriental rugs and beautiful artwork, the mansion was named one of the top 100 B&B's by Frommers. It is the only AAA 4 diamond rated B&B in NE PA.
The speciality of the mansion is the mystery weekend. Running almost continously for 12 years the mystery centers on the lives of village residents in the 1870's. Used as the model for the haunted mansion in Disney World - the mystery weekend is a perfect fit.
The mansion also hosts business meetings, weddings and special occasion parties.
