Crescent Harbor Hideaway is one of Sitka's older historic homes downtown on "Main Street." Two blocks east is the Sheldon Jackson College with it's historic museum. Three blocks west is the Russian Orthodox St. Michael's Cathedral, the Bishop's House, the Centennial Building and downtown shopping.
The apartment is completely furnished including linens and kitchen utensils, private phone and cable. One outside door opens onto a small patio and another onto off street parking. The second unit is an upstairs Queen Suite with full private bath and an outside entrance. An expanded continental breakfast is provided.
Your hosts are Walt and Susan. We have 35 years of varied Alaskan experience including homesteading, commercial fishing and Marine Mammal research. Walt has worked for the Alaskan Dept. Fish & Game since 1967 with most of Alaska's land mammals. We have worked together in the field since 1975 on bear projects, pelagic and migratory bird census, sea otter and Steller Sea Lion research. This experience helps us answer questions and explain Alaska's wildlife on our
Bare Island Educational Marine Tours. Other interests include alternate energy in Alaska and Alaskan flora. Susan is an glass artist with lampwork beads galleries around Alaska.
