Brookside Inn, Aurora, West Virginia
Brookside Inn, built in 1899, is an historic, rustic lodge. Once a "guest cottage" for a thriving resort complex, the Inn brings back a time when leisurely relaxation was an art form. Our expansive porch is loaded with rocking chairs in the warmer months and, during the cooler months, guests can cozy up with a book and quilt infront of the wood stove. Our guest rooms are spacious and comforatble and the nooks and crannies of the house provide for a quiet privacy.
Cathedral State Park, a 132 acre virgin hemlock forest is located across a rural section of US Rt 50 from the Inn and welcomes guests for early morning hiking or adventurous cross-country skiing. Our location, central to numerous recreation areas, makes Brookside Inn the ideal choice for those who wish to experience all the region has to offer.
We pride ourselves in to meals we serve. Your candlelight dinner features locally grown foods prepared to satisfy the hearty yet discriminating appetite. Both breakfast and dinner are included in our rates. Private parties, retreats, and receptions are welcome.
Brookside Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places.
