Mazama Country Inn, Mazama, Washington

A river runs through it, mountains surround it and Ponderosa Pine populate it.

The Mazama Country Inn rests in the Methow Valley at the foot of the North Cascades in Washington State.

Our log beam and cedar lodge, with 14 rooms, a lovely dining room with a huge stone fireplace, outdoor hot tub and sauna makes a perfect base for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and x-c skiing. The trails are right out the door. Over 175 km of trails are groomed for x-c skiing in the winter. Mountain bikes, x-c skis and horse rentals available.

The Inn is nestled among the Ponderosa Pine in the hamlet of Mazama just off the North Cascades Highway (Hwy 20). the Methow river runs right by us, and we are surrounded by the North Cascades National Park, the Okanogan National Forest and the Pasayten Wilderness.

To get to us, from Seattle, about 4 hours, you drive over the North Cascades Highway through what has been described as the ³American Alps². The road is great but the views are greater-bring your camera. (In the winter highway 20, the northern route, is closed. The southern route adds about an hour to the drive.)
