Country Inn at Sugar Pine sits on the edge of a ridge overlooking the broad expanse of the Stanislaus River canyon. The hills are covered with tall trees and clouds can fill the canyons providing everchanging panoramas. The sunsets are fantastic.
The inn is located in the midst of a grand historical and recreational area. Water sports, repertory theater, snow skiing, and mule pack trips are a few of the different types of activities the area offers. The inn makes a great home base from which to take advantage of these opportunities.
The inn has a country, not rustic, feel, even though the great room where the full country breakfasts are served is panelled in knotty pine. A woodstove warms the room during the winter months. Afternoon refreshments are always available.
The five guest rooms (one on the first floor) are individually decorated with the comfort of the guest in mind. Quilts adorn the beds or room walls. Rooms have individual thermostats.
