Oakland Houses Shore Oaks Seaside Inn, Brooksville, Maine
Brooksville Maine Bed and Breakfast near Parson Fisher House
Shore Oaks Seaside Inn's unique qualities place it gently in a category of its own.
It was tastefully restored in 1994 by owner, Jim Littlefield's bride Sally, a talented industrial designer. Beside the restful, Arts and Crafts Cottage design; sea, pine, and nature predominate. The view exclaims sunsets wildly colorful and varied from day to day. The muting fog emotes peace as seagulls soar silently searching for dinner on the shore. The sky has a trillion stars and plaintive calls of loons remind guests they are far from the city.
Guests may dine at Oakland House or Shore Oaks as the season dictates. Shore Oaks purposely has no TV. It has a large library and board games. There is a single phone plus a "business room" with dedicated phone line for guests bringing laptop computers.
Shore Oaks Seaside Inn is but part of Oakland House's 50 acre shorefront resort. There are 15 family-sized cottages. Two are winterized and available year round.
