Ithaca is in the heart of New York State's Finger Lakes Wine Country, at the hub of both the Cayuga and Seneca Lake's Wine Trails. This 1874 brick Victorian with a mansard roof and wide front porch was built by an Englishman who came to Ithaca to build Ezra Cornell's house, Llenroc. The House is described in an 1874 issue of the Ithaca Journal as the new residence of John Snaith, full of chestnut, ash and walnut trim. There are eight air-conditioned rooms with telephones and most with private baths. The living room and dining room have working fireplaces similar to those in Llenroc. The house sits on a corner lot, bordered by pretty English gardens and a wrought iron fence. There is off street parking for eight cars on the premises. The area is a popular spot for visitors from all over the world. Proximity to both Cornell and Ithaca College Campuses keeps the house busy throughout the academic year with visiting professors, parents, college alumni.
