A unique blending of time honored architecture with todays amenities. An eleven guestroom colonial period replication, appointed with individually chosen antiques. The Name ..... Dunhopen ..... The Inns name has a special meaning to Innkeeper, Pat Allen that she gladly shares. The name centers on her grandfather, George L. Green, who built a home when Pat was three years old. When finished, he said he was done hoping for his home. Since the completion of Dunhopen, Pat is done hoping for her B & B. Hence, the play on words that created the name Dunhopen. The Past Link ..... Pat has a family link with innkeepers from a bygone era. The Price Hotel, on Pleasure Bay in Long Branch, New Jersey, was a part of her family over five generations ago. Opening in 1857 and operating until 1953, the guest list at Price Hotel included Presidents Grant, Harrison, and Garfield along with Generals Sherman and Sheridian. Douglas Fairbanks made his acting debut at Prices in The Gentleman from Mississippi. Dunhopens common area is named the Price Parlor.
