The Inn has been in existance since 1979 with Mackie & Bruce being proprietors since 1984. The 1835 farm consists of the main house which contains 10-ten guest rooms all retaining the orignal character of an era gone by. We have attempted to keep the simplistic lifestyle of the early 1900's with the amenities of present day comforts.



The large wrap-around porch leads to the entrance of a pleasant common room complete with the center stone hearth which offers warmth from the fall and winter chill. We attempt to capture the feeling of returning to Grandmother's house with the smell of fresh baked goods and the aroma of fresh coffee to wake you from an evenings rest.



This is a place to come home to, so take a deep breath, swing on the swing, listen to the music of the brook as it passes nearby, or come in from the snow to sit cozy next to the fireplace. The Back Side Inn, being the closest full service inn to Mt. & Lake Sunapee, NH, will surround with much warmth and New England charm.
