Fennville Michigan Bed and Breakfast near Oval Beach
Starting in 1888 Ridgeland has been a part of the Saugatuck/Douglas area. It has changed little over the years. The house is rich in historical authenticity of a by gone era in which guests at Ridgeland Resort traveled by riverboat up the Mississipipi. Then boarded a passenger ship to cross Lake Michigan arriving at the Douglas docks. Here guests were met by surrey for the final part of their trip to the working farm resort.
The family lived in tents during the summer providing a summer get away for city folks. Besides being a guest house, the grounds were filled with fruit trees and flower gardens. Much of the gardens are now gone, but someday in the future, we hope Ridgeland will once again be known for its flowers.
Take exit 34 off I-196, US-31 Turn West onto M-89. Go 1/2 mile to end. Turn right (North) onto Lakeshore Drive. Go one mile to 126th Ave. Turn right (East) and go to the end.
