The 1855 Marshall Slocum House stands stately among her Victorian peers off Historic Bellevue Avenue. A 5 minute stroll down the hill takes one to the heart of Newport Harbor. Beautiful beaches are a 10 minute walk as is the beginning of the Scenic Cliff Walk.

We offer 6 guest rooms, all with private baths. Each room is uniquely decorated and named accordingly...The Bostonian is decorated in bright yellow Laura Ashley fabric and needlepointed scenes of Boston, made by your hostess, Joan Wilson are on the walls. The centerpiece of the Brass Room is an antique Brass bed with porcelin fixtures. Rooms have either a king bed , queen bed or two twin beds

Each morning, guests awaken to the aroma of coffee brewing and bread baking. A full 3 course breakfast is served in the dining room where tablecloths and linen napkins change daily. Complimentary refreshments are served in the afternoon which could be a home made boursin cheese with Chardonnay or home made roasted garlic hummas with chips and salsa and a pitcher of Sangria.

Wednesday night is Lobster Night at the Inn and guests staying three nights enjoy a complimentary lobster dinner served outside on the back deck overlooking the spacious lawn where ofter guests will enjoy a game of croquet or badminton.

Convenient to all Newport has to offer, The 1855 Marshall Slocum House is a true bed and breakfast. Your innkeepers, Joan & Julie Wilson do innkeeping with a flair. A mother-daughter team whose hospitality and personalities are perfectly suited for innkeeping.
