Located in historic Old Louisville, the Columbine Bed & Breakfast is an 1896 Greek Revival mansion built by prominent local lumber merchant Clarence Mengel. It is located among the largest collection of Victorian homes in America. Victorian craftsmanship is evident throughout the inn -- from the rare Honduran mahogany wainscoting -- to the fireplace with rose Italian marble -- to the intricately carved dining chairs. The eight working gas fireplaces, winding staircase with original stain glass and magnificent hardwood floors set a wonderful mood throughout the inn. With six beautifully decorated rooms, four with in-room fireplaces and all with private bathrooms, the Columbine Bed & Breakfast offers all the modern amenities.
