Woodbine Hotel & Restaurant, Madisonville, Texas
The 1904 Woodbine Hotel is on the National List of Historic Places and a Texas Registered Historic Landmark. A two story Victorian Hotel, it features both a Queen Anne Tower and an Eastlake Turret with ornate "Fish Scale" siding all around. Constructed at the turn of the century by Jake and Sara Shapira, Russian Immigrant Jews, it underwent extensive renovations in 1978. All rooms offer "19th Century Charm with 21st Century Comfort" including King or Queen beds, private baths with whirlpool tubs, color TV's with movie channels and full breakfast for two in the morning. Chef/Owner restaurant serves excellent steaks and fresh seafood for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, and sandwiches, salads and pasta for lunch Tuesday through Friday. Try our "All You Can Eat Prime Rib" Thursday nights or our wonderful Sunday Brunch. Full bar serves wine, beer and liquor. Located on I-45 approximately half-way between Dallas and Houston. The romantic Woodbine is ideal for weddings, reunions, retreats or just a quiet getaway.
