A New England Innkeeper-owned Connecticut hilltop 63 acre retreat shelters this romantic country house B&B, which immediately overlooks the beautiful Housatonic River Valley in the Berkshire Foothills. All common rooms and the Flagstone Terrace offer Housatonic Valley and tri-State (CT,MA,NY) panoramic views of the Berkshire Foothills and the Taconic Mountains, with magnificent sunsets over the distant peaks of the Catskill Mountains. The Stone Library features windows on three sides, grand fireplace and vaulted truss ceiling, antique chandeliers, antique glass-front bookcase, Oriental chests and classic marquetry-detailed oak furniture; French doors open to the Flagstone Terrace. The Music Room offers a 1938 Kranich & Bach "baby" grand piano, French-tile-surround fireplace, and Oriental rugs. The Mandarin Sunset Room has floor-to-ceiling glass on view sides, Chinese rosewood glass-front bookcase, antique Tientsin rug, and European tiled wood stove. Antique American stained-glass doors open to the Picture Gallery hallway to the guest rooms. Each has woods/hilltop view, double bed, armchairs, writing desk, full private bath, and private line phone/answering machine. Breakfast (Innkeeper's recipes) is served on Staffordshire china at private tables in the Mandarin Room, the Library, or on the Flagstone Terrace.
