Limestone Inn, Strasburg, Pennsylvania
Enjoy life in the slow lane at one of the most photographed homes in Lancaster County. Located in Strasburg's Historical District, this 200 year old home is listed on the National Register of Historical Places and the Lancaster County Historic Sites Register. Built for a local merchant in 1786, this elegant limestone residence housed the first Chief Burgess of Strasburg and the first Post Office in 1805. From 1839 to 1860, the principal of the Strasburg Academy boarded up to 50 boys attending the school that was erected behind the home.
Each of our six guest rooms is tastefully decorated with your comfort in mind, using many antiques from different periods. The Jacob Pfoutz Room has queen-sized accommodations and an in-room fireplace for those chilly fall and winter evenings. The Headmaster Room comes with a queen-sized Cherry Poster bed and features a full in-room bath. The handmade quilt in this room is the Double Wedding Ring design. Doc Tinney's Room is our largest room with a queen-sized, turn-of-the-century oak with walnut inlay bedroom set with a Dutch flavor. This room has a hand-made Amish quilt in the Ocean Wave pattern. The Tower Room features a full-sized sleigh bed and a wonderful nighttime view of the tower in the center of Strasburg. The Dorm is fitted with two twin-beds, great for folks needing some extra space. This is the Ozzie and Harriet room! The Center Room has an Eastlake full-sized bedroom and some of the floor boards are over 25 inches wide!!!
