The award winning Bonaventure Bed and Breakfast is now an individual listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Awarded the Best Rehabilitation of an Historic Structure in 1998 by the Georgia Preservation Trust, the Bonaventure is a voyage through our Victorian past. Each room is uniquely furnished with Art Nouveau furnishings, Oriental Deco rugs and unusual items collected by the owners from European travels. The house retains its fin de siecle charm with heart of pine floors, burnished wood moulding throughout, original art-glass light fixtures and seven working fireplaces. In addition to the four bedrooms upstairs there is also the Carriage House adjacent to the Gold Fish Pond which contains a full kitchen, private bath, queen sized bed, television and phone. The grounds have been extensively landscaped and feature a croquet lawn, two ponds, patios, walking paths which are magically transformed at night by the glow of antique Chinese lanterns. Recent articles in Atlanta newspapers mentioned the compatibility of the garden style with the Victorian atmosphere inside the Bonaventure. As many guests have remarked, stepping through the doors of the Bonaventure is like entering another world, an ambiance of the European salons in the 1920s yet with all the comforts of today. There is a 10% discount for musicians.
