Page House Bed and Breakfast in Dublin Georgia

Come back to a time when "Cotton was King" and living was gracious and easy. Picture yourself among the guests that would promenade around the block and later gather in the ballroom of the Page House to enjoy dancing and musical performances. Such was the life for residents of "Millionaire's Row" or "the Mansion's that Cotton Built", a reference made to homes of Bellevue Avenue by the locals. In 1903, T.L. Griner began construction of an 11 room, 7,000 square-foot Classic Revival home that was often described as one of the grandest homes south of Atlanta. It consisted of Tiffany-style stained-glass windows, the only private home in this area of the state with a balllroom, 12-foot ceilings, intertior Ionic columns, and picture moldings sealed with silver and brushed with gold. In 1905, the home was purchased for $10,000.00. The home would remain in the Page family until it was sold in 1965. Approaching its 100th birthday, the stately old landmark began a new life when the Canady family aquired the property in June of 1998. Dedicated preservationists and hands-on owners, the Canadys have enhanced the beauty of the classic interior and exterior with an authentic restoration. Come visit the "Gem of the Emerald City".
