Gwin's Lodge, a Kenai Peninsula historic landmark, is one of Alaska's few remaining pioneer built log roadhouse lodges. Surrounded by the Chugach National Forest and built in the 1940's, Gwin's has the closest lodging and services to the Kenai & Russian Rivers confluence, site of the most productive Sockeye (Red) Salmon sport fishery on Earth. Gwin's is conveniently between Seward and Kenai/Soldotna as well as midway between Anchorage and Homer, the "Halibut Capital of the World". Gwin's rustic yet comfortable cabins have at least two double beds and rollaways, gas heat, and a private bath with shower. Selected units include kitchens. There is also a full size cottage unit that features a living room with woodstove and a kitchen with dining room. The recreation line-up continues with charter driftboat fishing for trophy catch & release Rainbow Trout as well as scenic and wildlife viewing rafting along the beautiful aqua colored glacial waters of the Upper Kenai River. Charters are available for barn door sized Pacific Halibut and world record sized King Salmon as well as fly-ins via floatplane to remote lakes and streams for Rainbow Trout/Arctic Grayling. Hiking opportunities abound with the Resurrection and Russian Lakes Trails, each within a mile of Gwin's. All these outdoor excursions can be booked through our reservation service. With our famous roadhouse restaurant/bar and fishing tackle shop/store's area exclusive 24 hours/day operations in the summer, Gwin's Lodge is clearly the Kenai Peninsula's outdoor recreation headquarters.
