Channel Bass Inn, Chincoteague, Virginia
This impressive house was built in 1892 as a private home. In the 1920's, the house was expanded and transformed into The Channel Bass Inn. Today the Channel Bass Inn offers surprisingly elegant accommodations for your stay on Chincoteague. The inn is smoke-free and peaceful. The guestrooms are spacious and quiet - no two rooms share a common wall! Most rooms have a king or queen bed with a comfortable sitting area for reading and relaxing. There is a distant view of Chincoteague Bay from some of the rooms.
Guests are welcomed with a traditional English afternoon tea, served most days at 3.30 p.m. Barbara's "world-famous" scones are probably everybody's favorite. The "very full" breakfasts at the Channel Bass Inn are also a treat!
Come and enjoy our islands! The nearby Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge and Assateague National Seashore offer hours of enjoyment for bicyclists, hikers, birdwatchers, and sunbathers.
