Miss Molly's Inn4141 Main StreetChincoteague, Virginia 23336 United States 757-336-6686 800-221-5620 FAX: 757-336-0600 msmolly@shore.intercom.net http://www.missmollys-inn.com Rate this Inn In 1886, Mr. J.T. Rowley, then known as "The Clam King of the World" built a charming Victorian home on Chincoteague Island. His daughter, "Miss Molly" was one of the Island’s best loved residents. After the death of her husband she took in boarders, the most notable being Marguerite Henry, who stayed with Miss Molly in 1946 while working on her famous children's classic "Misty of Chincoteague." In the 1980's the house was restored and reopened as a bed and breakfast. The house is authentically furnished with period antiques, including several pieces that belonged to Miss Molly, who lived here until 1971. There are 7 cozy guestrooms, 5 of which have private bathrooms. The two guestrooms on the third floor share a sitting room and a huge bathroom, making this floor an excellent space for families and friends. Four porches ensure that guests have just the right spot to enjoy the Island breezes and the friendly outdoor cats that call Miss Molly's Inn their home. The nearby Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge and Assateague National Seashore offer hours of enjoyment for bicyclists, hikers, birdwatchers, and sunbathers. Be sure to arrive in time to delight in Barbara's "world-famous" scones at tea-time!
