Jack and Monica Pizura welcome you to join them on their working orange ranch and to step back in time as you enter their gracious turn-of-the-century-home. Wicky-Up with its unique cedar woodwork is a "must stay" for lovers of history, antiques, original art and Oriental rugs. Built by a Pasadena architect in 1902 for Monica's ancestor, Illinois State Senator Fred E. Harding, this two-story California Craftsman-type home shows elements of the famed Greene & Greene style. Choose the Harding Room with its vintage queen-size bed and private bath or the Calico room with stacked twins, romantic shower for two and private patio entrance.
A generous breakfast of homemade treats and, of course, fresh squeezed orange juice is served either by candlelight in the formal dining room or on the garden patio. Little "extras" include a social hour on the veranda or by the fireplace, an Art Deco "Butterfly Grand" piano, fresh-cut flowers, fluffy bathrobes, peaceful gardens with cooing doves and a detailed tour of this historic home.
One night's deposit is required, with refund for cancellation with seven days notice (fourteen days for holiday weekends). Smoking is allowed on the patio. Sorry, no pets.
