Marcel's house is an official landmark in the City Center of Amsterdam. The backhouse of his property was established in the early 1600's and is part of Amsterdam's first art cinema “the UITKIJK”. First opened in 1914 it is well kept, and still in operation. Ask Marcel for free tickets. Marcel completed his degree in carpentry and is also an internationally recognized graphic designer. He received a national award for Unicef, Kinderpostzegels. Marcel is one of the pioneers for the Dutch National Television Foundation (1960- 1968). He made designs for the City of Los Angeles / LA GAMES 84. Marcel started renovating his house in 1970 with respect for the features of Victorian detail, in a modern style. Marcel offers you the opportunity to see and feel what it looks like today. Time Out Guide Amsterdam refers to the unique work of Marcel and says that Marcel likes to create a home-from-home atmosphere for his friends, colleagues and guests in his museum piece of a house. The artist says he is a people person and provides a wide range in information about the City and the Arts. We think he does enough to warrant not providing breakfast.
