Three Bears At The Fountain, Stowe, Vermont
Three Bears at The Fountain is Stowe's oldest guest house, built by the first couple married in Stowe in 1824. This colonial home with wraparound porch and adjacent carriage house, c. 1796, is named for the overflow of the mountain spring water supply which, in winter, freezes into a towering ice sculpture that is a local landmark.
Newly renovated and re-opened in 1998, the Inn features large distinctly different king and queen rooms with private baths, some with gas fireplaces and cableTV. There is a master suite with a two-person jacuzzi, gas fireplace, cable TV, stereo and a two-bedroom suite available. Rooms have fresh flowers from the gardens, homemade candies and many other amenities.
Antique furnishings, hot-tub, mountain views and surrounding perennial gardens make this an ideal setting for romance, relaxation and renewal.
Full homemade breakfasts served outside in summer on porch overlooking Mr. Mansfield will include: freshly ground Green Mountain Coffee, fresh juice, fruit, homebaked pastries and breads and a daily changing entree.
