Casa Del Rio, Abiquiu, New Mexico

Casa del Rio, a traditional adobe compound in the heart of Georgia O'Keefe's pink cliffs, is a totally modern bed & breakfast reflecting the peace, beauty and charm of New Mexico without compromising high standards of service and authenticity.

Casa del Rio is located half way between Santa Fe and Taos and half way between Espanola and Abiquiu. The bed and breakfast is situated on 12 acres along the Chama River and ideally situated for day trips to all of the major tourist sites, shopping areas, hiking and biking trails, and fishing areas in the north.

The guestrooms are appointed with local handmade crafts, rugs, bed coverings, and hand carved furniture. The traditionally designed viga and latilla ceilings reflect the soft light of kiva fireplaces, the grace, and the elegance of old world culture.

Outside the windows is a magnificent view of the cliffs above the Rio Chama, a two-minute walk away. Eagles can sometimes be seen in rocks, and sand hill cranes, wild geese and even an occasional whooping crane can be seen on their fall and spring migrations.
