Named by the readers of Sunset Magazine as one of the best Bed & Breakfast Inns in the West and recently featured in Country Inns, the Channel Road Inn is located in rustic Santa Monica Canyon just one block from the beach. All fourteen rooms in this historic home are richly decorated and all have private baths. Some rooms have blue ocean views and fireplaces, some have sun warmed decks; all offer telephones, television, fine linens and a respite from the outside world. A flowering garden Jacuzzi and bicycles for exploring the 30 mile ocean side bike path are both available for guests' enjoyment. Several of the city's well-known restaurants are within walking distance and the famous J. Paul Getty Art Museum is just up the Coast highway. Breakfast at the Channel Road Inn was recently featured on the Public Television Series, "Inn Country USA" and recipes appear both in the Inn Country USA Cookbook and the third edition of Chicken Soup For the Soul. Fresh California fruits, baked egg dishes such as Chili Cheese Puff (chosen for the television series) or mushroom souffle, homemade blueberry bread, Heidi's buttery scones, cereals and yogurt, fresh orange juice, a variety of teas and good strong coffee comprise the vast breakfast buffet offered every morning. Breakfast is served in the sunny breakfast room or brought to the room or patio if a guest prefers. Fruit, muffins, cereal and coffee are always available for early departures. Rooms 5 and 11 - Romantic Favorites - Queen Beds - expansive bay windows with garden view. Room 5's patio and room 11's white sheer draped pine bed make these two our most requested.
