Selected as one of the "Top 10 Affordable Luxury Inns" by Country Inns Magazine, THE FAIRBANKS HOUSE is an upscale Bed and Breakfast listed on the National Register of Historic Places and located in the Historic District of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. The house is a beautiful Italianate villa built in 1885 with piazzas, swimming pool, and beautiful gardens. All the 9 rooms and suites in the main house are individually decorated with antiques, oriental rugs, and period pieces. The cottages have a more casual decor with white wicker and floral prints. Four-poster king, queen and twin beds are available. Each room has a private bath with Jacuzzi, shower or claw-foot tub. In addition, all rooms have cable TV, telephones, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards. Other guest amenities include use of the bicycles and beach chairs. A full gourmet breakfast is served each morning in the formal dining room or on the porch overlooking the courtyard. Each evening a social hour is hosted where guests may enjoy complimentary refreshments and appetizers. For the overall comfort of the guests THE FAIRBANKS HOUSE is a completely non-smoking property, including the grounds.
