McKendrick-Breaux House, New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans Louisiana Bed and Breakfast near Mississippi Riverfront

The McKendrick-Breaux House was built in 1865 by a Scottish plumber, Daniel McKendrick. It is a three story masonry home that is now a part of the historic Lower Garden District of New Orleans. It is the most comprehensive nineteenth-century Greek Revival neighborhood in in the country. Preservationist and proprietor Eddie Breaux has restored the house to its original splendor and it now operates as a private home as well as a Bed and Breakfast. Each room is lushly decorated with antiques, works of local artists and craftspeople, family collectibles, and custom fabrics. To top it off, there is a beautiful courtyard and patio filled with tropical plants. The overall experience is one of classic New Orleans.
