Our Bed & Breakfast is situated on an Island eight miles long and one mile wide. A corner seashore cottage recognized by the local Historic Commission was originally used by a family for Christian Camp Meeting in the 1880’s. In the Spring/Summer after a day of wandering local places or enjoying our ocean, guests lounge on the awning shaded front porch in the pretty wicker chairs, later perhaps attending an event at Ocean City’s Historic Music Pier. Fall/Winter finds guests reading in the third floor intimate library or joining the innkeepers in the common area for pleasant conversation, discussion might concern how the BarnaGate antiques were acquired, or how the hosts became interested in innkeeping. Since hospitality is the number one attraction, the B&B’s proprietors concerns include guests requirements such as honeymoon, anniversary or birthday celebrations, business meeting and seminars. Recently acquired queen sized beds are decorated with handmade authentic quilts from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The diet requirement of each guest is taken into consideration. Murder Mystery weekends are available. In order to book a Mystery the guests have to have five couples reserve the entire B&B. Mystery scripts are mailed, a reception/dinner is planned and rewards are given.
