Das Garten Haus is a traditional bed and breakfast in town, owned and operated for the last nine years by Lynn and Kevin Macwithey. This lovely 50 year old home with pine and oak floors throughout has three private suites that open onto a New Orleans style courtyard. As Kevin is a professional horticulturist, you may enjoy the changing landscape of the perennial gardens where you can relax in intimate seating areas.
A full gourmet breakfast is served each morning in the host's dining room, often utilizing fresh herbs from the garden. Breakfast is served at 8:30, but refreshments are available in all suites at all times, including specially blended coffee.
The downstairs, Garden Suite consists of two rooms with private entrances. The bedroom has a Queen-size bed and private bath with shower. The sitting room has cable television, and a kitchenette with refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. Coffee, juice, tea, homemade cookies, and popcorn are available in your suite. This suite sleeps two adults.
The Upstairs suite consists of two bedrooms - The Peach Room and The Sunroom - both with Queen-sized beds. This suite sleeps up to 4 adults. There is a living room with a Queen-sized sleeper sofa and cable TV. The kitchen has the same amenities as the downstair's Garden suite. There is a private entrance and both bedrooms open onto the garden.
The Courtyard Cottage is a separate building that sleeps 2 adults in a king bed, full, bath, kitcenette and cable TV/VCR.
