Watkins Hill is way ahead of the rest in the American "bed and breakfast" scence.
Our goal is to provide guests with a setting that is planned to be relaxing, is decorated to feel luxurious, and to provide total privacy. A full hot gourmet breakfast is delivered each morning to each guest's door -- at the time they select.
Six buildings are on our landscaped and tree-studded two acre plot, looking out over a field of Live oaks, a creek and Longhorns. And yet, the back of the property is exactly one block from the first shops on Main Street.
Of those six buildings, four are 19th Century: 1835, 1840, 1855, 1890. The Main Lodge includes a log frontier ballroom and four other rooms for guest-hosted events.
All accommodations have private bath, butler's pantry with wet bar, coffee maker and small refrigerator stocked with complimentary wine, mineral water, fruit juice, apples, coffees, teas, chocolates, peanuts and snack mix. Every accommodation has a queen-size canopied bed, TV, VCR, telephone, dimmers, ceiling fans, cathedral ceilings and its own private porch. Of the 11 rooms and suites, 9 have fireplaces. No two rooms are alike.
