The Cedars is the oldest and largest bed and breakfast in Williamsburg. Originally built by a doctor in the early 1930's to house his 7 children who would be attending the College of William & Mary, this 3-story brick Georgian home will set the tone for your visit to the 18th century. 200 year old brick from an old plantation house and the skilled workmanship of the historic Williamsburg restoration craftsmen have created an authentic colonial elegance. Less than a 10 minute walk to Colonial Williamsburg, and across the street from the College of William & Mary, The Cedars offers traditional comfort and hospitality. Candlelight and fresh flowers enhance the scrumptious, full breakfasts which are served from a hand-hewn huntboard on the tavern porch. Enjoy oatmeal pudding with brandied raisins, smoked salmon flan, or other enticing and bountiful fare which will sustain you for your day of sightseeing. After breakfast, the porch serves as a meeting place for cards, chess or other diversions. On cool evenings, the fireplace in the elegant sitting room invites relaxation and conversation. The 8 rooms in the inn and the 2-story cottage are individually and graciously appointed to ensure your comfort and enjoyment. Each has a unique personality but all reflect the romance and charm of the colonial era. Four-poster and canopy beds abound. Each of the 2 suites in the cottage has a fireplace.
