Inn At Narrow Passage, Woodstock, Virginia

The Inn at Narrow Passage was built over 250 years ago along the Great Wagon Road (now U.S. Rt. 11) through the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Its sturdy log walls made it a safe haven against Indian attacks at the "narrow passage" of the road bed, and it later became important as Stonewall Jackson's headquarters during the Valley Campaign in 1862.

Guest rooms in the oldest part of the inn have pine floors, stenciling, and the atmosphere of colonial times. Newer guest rooms are decorated in the same style, but open on to porches, with views of the Shenandoah River and the Massanutten Mountains to the east. All the rooms have queen-sized beds and private baths; many have fireplaces.

A full breakfast is included in our rates and served by the fire in our panelled dining room. Many restaurants for other meals are nearby, and we'll be happy to help you with choices and reservations.

There are so many things to see and do in our area, from hiking to historic sites and vineyards, that you may just decide to relax and spend some time sipping lemonade on the porch or walking down the lawn to the river for some after-dinner fly fishing.

We're easy to find, just two miles from Interstate 81 at Woodstock, and we hope you'll visit soon!
