Burnett Place, built circa 1830, is a large two storey Federal home typical of the Piedmont region of Georgia. It is located in Madison Georgia, one of the few true remaining antebellum Southern towns. Madison was spared during Sherman's march to the sea, and has been carefully and authentically maintained as a living example, not a recreation, of large Southern residential architecture in both central and plantation environments.
