Only 23 miles from New Orleans this B&B Inn is on the site of an old plantation in the bayou country which was once home to the pirate Jean Lafitte. The compound consists of two West Indian style homes on over six acres of landscaped gardens. The grounds include an antique rose garden, a parterre herb garden and an iris pond. A private pier and sea water pool extend out into the lake which was once the fields of this Louisiana indigo plantation. Nearby bayous allow guests to spend time on swamp tours and fishing charters, hiking or canoeing in the National park or enjoying Cajun food and dancing.
