Eatery...Sleepery...Shoppery.

Circa 1840-1860's, this peaceful, easy feeling country inn is a typical middle-class clapboard with "gingerbready" front porch. Located only one block from restored Whitewater Canal. No in- room telephone, television, radio or alarm clock to interrupt your relaxation.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before exploring over 100 shoppes, galleries and museums in this quaint historic village, listed on the National Register. Two serendipitous gift shoppes and The Pour House, a gourmet coffee/tea shoppe also located on the premises.

Family-style dining room is open to the public, daily for lunch. A breakfast buffet is served weekends and holidays. Thorpe House was named a "favorite downhome breakfast spot" by readers of "Midwest Living" magazine!

Transportation options include excursion train, horsedrawn canalboat and carriages. Although The Thorpe House is "150 years away", the inn is convenient to Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
