The Stone Lion Inn of Cape Cod was originally built as a sea captain's house in 1871. The exterior and interior of the original house have been maintained as much as possible while modern ammenities, including private baths, have been added. We offer an expanded continental breakfast buffet from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., but if you have to be out earlier we can provide hot coffee and muffins to go!
This former fishing/whaling village has attractions ranging from fine art to nature walks. With nearly 70% of it's available land under the stewardship of the National Seashore, Wellfleet is an ideal place for a quiet getaway, whether you have a week or just two days.
We are situated on nearly an acre of land less than a quarter mile from the harbor. Our grounds offer gardens, fish ponds, fountains and quiet spots for reading or chatting. From the inn guests can leave their cars and walk to the many art galleries and studios in town, as well as restaurants, theatre and the harbor & bay beach.
