Salem, only 18 miles north of Boston, is one on America's oldest cities with an enduring maritime past. The Salem Inn, which comprises the West House (c1834), the Curwen House (c1854) and the Peabody House (c1874) testifies to the glory that was 19th century Salem. These impressive buildings are centrally located a short walk from Salem's waterfront, museums and shops.
