Sitting on a knoll above Main Street in Newcastle, this recently restored 1840s Inn provides a spectacular view of the Newcastle/Damariscotta harbor.
Original art and antiques create an atmosphere of warmth and casual elegance at the Harbor View. Our three, thoughtfully appointed guest rooms are large and airy, with private tiled baths, sitting areas, cable, and phones. The second floor suites have fireplaces and private decks.
Inkeeper and professional chef Joe McEntee serves a four-course breakfast featuring fresh juices, fruits, creals, home-made breads, muffins, various egg dishes and breakfast meats.
A three-minute walk takes you to a variety of fine shops, art galleries, restaurants, and antique dealers in the twin villages. In addition, the Round Top Center for the Arts hosts concerts and special arts and craft exhibits in Damariscotta.
The Harbor View is within easy day-trips of Maine's finest points of interest, including the magnificent harbor of Boothbay, with whale-watching and island clambakes; Pemaquid with its lighthouse, beach and fort; and the quant village of New Harbor with cruises to Monhegan Island and Puffin Watches.
Other attractions include the picturesque coastal towns of Camden and Rockport, Rockland's Farnsworth Museum with its collection of three generations of Wyeths, and L.L. Bean in Freeport.
