The Old Bethlehem School Cottage Bed and Breakfast was once a one-room school in which classes were held until the mid-fifties. It now features 3 bedrooms, large, fully-equipped kitchen, living room, and bath. No separate bedroom rental. It makes a great family get-away, or hunters' haven, (one-half mile from Pope Co. (IL largest deer population). It is located at the southern tip of Illinois near Metropolis, (Superman City), across the Ohio River from Paducah, KY, home of The American Quilters' Convention. Scenic views of Shawnee National Forest from the yard. We offer deer and wild turkey hunting rights on our more than 300 acre farm. A hunting guide is available upon request. Horse and pet accommodations available upon request. The 335 acre farm has 3 large ponds and features breathtaking views of the hills of Shawnee National Forest. Horseback riding and hiking are offered on the farm in addition to hunting and pond fishing. Hunting license required. Parents or guardians must accompany minors under the age of 16.
The farm has 2 camper hookups and secluded campsites for tent camping.
