Just south of the Grand Canyon on historic Route 66, the Red Garter Bed and Bakery proudly offers lodging and a small town bakery in a beautifully restored 1897 saloon and bordello. Restoration of this Victorian Romanesque style brick building with twelve foot high ceilings, skylights and antique furnishings, capture the 1890's atmosphere without giving up the comfort and security expected by today's traveler. Wake up to the smell of fresh pastries coming out of the oven and join the innkeeper for history and photos of the Red Garter, Williams and the Southwest.
The vintage Grand Canyon Railway chugs to the Grand Canyon from just across the street. A variety of restaurants, shops, galleries and the entire downtown Historic District are within a two-block walk. Information on natural history, regional points of interest and self-guided tours and hikes is available across the street at the Visitor's Information Center. Your host will direct your travels to watch elk herds at dusk, visit a ghost town or Indian ruins. The wonders of the Grand Canyon, of course, are just an hour away.
