The Inn was built around the turn of the century and opened in 1906 as the Sunrise Inn. Since 1985 it has operated as the Neahtawanta Inn Bed and Breakfast. The Inn is located on Old Mission Peninsula, just north of Traverse City, with 325 feet of beach on Bowers Harbor -- Grand Traverse Bay.
Surrounded by woods and water, the Inn offers peace and comfort for those who need to rest and rejuvenate. The large living/dining room with a sunken fieldstone firepit, and library with many books and periodicals are available for our guests. Healthy vegetarian breakfasts are served, and a wood-burning sauna is housed in the building behind the Inn. The Neahtawanata Center, a nonprofit organization, is also housed at the Inn.
