Margaret and Brian welcome you to their stone built former farmhouse which is quietly situated in 9 acres of picturesque rural Northumberland, just 4 miles south of the market town of Hexham. This bustling market town in Tynedale has an Abbey whose crypt dates from AD 675. We are surrounded by fields, streams, woods and wonderful walks.
There is plenty to see and do. Fishing, golf, cycling, sailing and riding facilities are all nearby. Visits to Gardens, plenty of Castles (Alnwick, Chillingham, Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh, Durham), Christian Heritage sites and the seaside can be made on uncrowded roads. Try the famous Metro Centre for shopping.
The main tourist attraction in this part of Northumberland is Hadrian's Wall. You may take the Hadrian's Wall Bus for a guided tour. Nearby Kielder, the largest man-made lake in Europe, lies in the heart of the Northumberland National Park.
Visit the award winning Beamish Open Air Museum, a 'living, working experience' of life as it was in Northumbria at the turn of the 19th century. For a day out be sure to visit Holy Island and take a boat trip to the Farne Islands.
