The accommodations at this 18th century plantation style home, built in the year of the bicentennial, are wonderful replicas of an elegant Colonial home, with antiques, pewter, and framed American Samplers. Built on the site of "Colonial" Jamestown Road (marked on the "Frenchmen's Map of 1782") and prominently located in the Architectural Corridor Protection District of Williamsburg and across from the College of William and Mary.
All rooms have four poster beds, private bath, and premium cable television with VCR. Additionally, the two room suites have sink and refrigerator, fireplace, and Roof Top Garden that overlook garden and wooded area (illuminated at night). Their Skip Lunch (R) breakfast is served in the Rooster's Den for which the retired Executive Chef of the famous Waldorf-Astoria commented, "The food and service is wonderful...with the standards of the best hotel." The past Virginia governor proclaimed this home as "Inn of the Year" and the present governor stated, "I commend you for providing a decade of hospitality both to the people of Virginia and to many visitors that come to our great Commonwealth each year." Ray Romano of "Everybody Love Raymond" wrote "Whenever the Barones are in town we stay at the Williamsburg Sampler."
