Nestled under centuries old silver cottonwoods on the banks of the Rio Fernando, The Inn on the Rio, is located a mile and a half east of the historic Taos Plaza. Each of the Inn’s 12 rooms is decorated in a comfortable southwestern style reflecting the rich and colorful heritage of Northern New Mexico.
Innkeepers, Robert and Julie Cahalane invite you to come relax and enjoy the many amenities offered at the Inn on the Rio. Julie, an authored gourmet cook, presents a complimentary homemade breakfast in the Inn’s cozy gathering room. Sip cinnamon flavored coffee by the Carmen Velardé kiva fireplace and let Robert help you plan the perfect Taos day. Whether it's a leisurely stroll through shops and galleries, or a day filled with outdoor adventure you are sure to be enchanted.
Refreshments are available throughout the day in our gathering room for the enjoyment of our guests. At the end of the day enjoy a relaxing soak in our outdoor hot tub. A perfect place to unwind and count falling stars.
