Iditarod House Bed And Breakfast, Palmer, Alaska

Palmer Alaska Bed and Breakfast near Historic Independence Mine

Relax and enjoy our beautiful country setting only one mile from downtown Palmer. Awaken to mountain views and birds at the feeders outside your window. Iditarod House is truly a place to pause and absorb some of the beauty of Alaska.

Located in the heart of the scenic Matanuska River valley, Palmer is a town of farming origins dating from President Franklin D. Roosevelt's agricultural colony experiment of the 1930's. Now the home of many borough offices, Palmer is a thriving community of friendly people and great natural beauty.

Your host and hostess are longtime Alaskans. They are knowledgeable about their area and state. Glenn was the director of Mat-Su College, an extended campus of the University of Alaska - Anchorage. He is now semi-retired. Donna competed in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in 1980 and 1981, finishing 10th and 18th. Though she no longer competes, Donna enjoys sharing stories of her experiences.

Glenn and Donna proudly offer quality lodging at a very reasonable price. The hospitality is an additional bonus!
