Abigail'S In The Grove, Palestine, Texas
This Queen Anne, center passage home (ca. 1899),is a designated historic structure in the South Side Historic District. Through the years no significant alterations were made to the home so it virtually remains as originally constructed (a back porch was enclosed in 1903 to accommodate a bathroom). Fully rehabilitated in 2001 the home retains its twelve foot ceilings, original glass windows, pine floors, clawfoot tub (shower) gas/electric light fixtures, doors and hardware.
With one bedroom available for guests, you will find privacy and gracious, personalized service. Explore the grounds; there is a vegetable garden, an herb garden and many native plants to enjoy. A gazebo in the backyard invites you to sit a spell, listen to the birds or gaze at our starry Texas sky. A gourmet breakfast, including fresh ground coffee, is served at your convenience.
