This building has been through a number of "past lives’" and the history is a fascinating read. From the 1920's through the 1950's, our building was ran as a hotel for traveling business men and tourists. We have lovingly renovated the hotel and created three guest rooms that replicate those eras. Each of our suites has a private bath, one queen size pillow top bed and a cozy sitting area. Our 1920's Master Suite is decorated lavishly with Mission Style furniture. It has a very large bathroom with a huge jetted tub (for 2 or more) and a small electric fireplace for ambience and added heat. It also has a separate shower area. The 1930's Art Deco suite reflects the machine-age of the 1930's. This is evident in the travel related prints on the walls, the cut mirrored headboard and the clean lines of the machine-age ceiling fan and furniture. This room has a fully equipped kitchenette (full breakfast is included). The 1940's Movie Theme suite is furnished very lushly with 1940's style fan chairs and very sleek and shiny materials within the soothing olive green room. This era reflects the Cary Grant/Katherine Hepburn glamour. The 1940's room also has a small jetted tub and separate shower area. Each room has a working radio and other antiques authentic to its era. We also offer three public areas for our guests’ enjoyment. The front lobby is luxuriously furnished with mission style furniture, a 1900's solid oak front soda bar, a large collection of turn-of-the century Coca Cola collectibles and an ice cream parlor table and chairs with a view of historic main street. Upstairs, we have the library/sitting/entertainment room with a good collection of local history books, TV. and V.C.R. with a varied collection of movies to choose from. To honor our guests desire to escape the day-to-day grind, we have not put phones in each room; there is a phone available in the front lobby. We also have our 1950's era dining room where the daily breakfasts are served. We offer full breakfast including yummy casseroles, creative french toast dishes, specialty waffles and always fresh fruit. Gourmet coffee is available each morning and can either be brought up to your room or you can help yourself to a carafe to take with you. We are a block away from the Mickelson Trail, within walking distance to several restaurants, art galleries and local shopping. With our natural love of people and Karen's extensive background in customer service, we feel very confident that you would have an excellent stay with us. We look forward to meeting you.
