IMAGINATION: "The act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived in reality". It is this power not to accept reality as a fait accompli but rather to invent new worlds that we celebrate at our Inn. Each room tells the story of the person behind their characters and achievements. Throughout the house and gardens are murals capturing the whimsy of each.
Lewis Carroll: This creator of Alice in Wonderland has delighted children and confounded scholars for over 100 years. Decorated in period pieces including a 1867 brass bed, luxurious drapery and awash in deep purples and gold. The private bath captures Alice's descent into Wonderland in a 360 degree mural.
Jimmy Buffett: Calypso poet, avid environmentalist and mental compass for us all. This oversized suite with 4 poster bamboo bed, blue and green hardwood floor, expansive bathroom and Caribbean flavor overlooks the 25 bush rose garden.
Dr. Seuss: Creator of odd and fanciful creatures, his bright and whimsical room features classic 1950's furniture, large walk-in closet, hardwood floors and many details of Seussian fancy.
Built in 1920, the Inn is on the National Historic Register as a classic example of Spanish Revival period.
