ColumnWood was built in 1914 by the Broaddus family and was originally meant to be one large home. However, it was completed as a duplex. The renovation of ColumnWood was completed in 2002. Joined back into one home again, it has over 4000 square feet of hardwood floors, large windows with old wavy glass, transom windows, pocket doors, double staircases, and beautiful jewel-tone paints and wallpaper throughout. There are 6 fireplaces. Four of the fireplaces have their original tiles and English coal grates.

ColumnWood sits on a large tree-filled lot on the main street of town surrounded by other historical homes and churches and within two blocks of the Caroline County Courthouse.

All meals are served in our elegant wainscoted dinning room on either Depression-era glass or china.
