There's a queen size bed, ensuite bathroom and a separate lounge room overlooking Spring Bay and our private jetty with views to Maria Island to the east and the Triabunna marina to the north. Everything you need to make your break relaxed - a jetty or mooring for your boat, walking tracks, good restaurants, or just a plain veg out! The cottage is suitable for adults, not children, and there are limited cooking facilities (you'll want to try our local restaurants!) Orford is a small waterfront village, one hour north-east from Hobart (45 minutes from Hobart's airport), two hours south-east from Launceston and only three hours from Devonport's Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal. Orford is well known as Hobart's beach escape and is an ideal base to explore the east coast of the island including Port Arthur, Maria Island (day tours run all year), the Freycinet National Park and Coles Bay,Hobart, the Coal River and east coast wine districts, historic Richmond and more. There are local golf and bowling clubs, Tasmania's best regional seafood restaurant, great gourmet wood fired pizza, and three good hotel dining rooms. Just up the road towards Swansea is Kabuki by the sea- stunning views and exceptional Tasmanian fare with a Japanese flair. Orford's temperature is coastal mild - cool in the winter mornings, but not overly hot in mid-summer!
